A special word
from our beloved Senior Pastor Lawrence Chua
The COVID-19 situation has progressed significantly over the past few weeks, and churches around Singapore have had to suspend all church services to help curb the community spread of the virus. We at Living Sanctuary Brethren Church are in support of our government’s efforts to fight COVID-19 as a nation.
Although the church building is closed, the church remains accessible. The video broadcast of our Sunday services continues to be available on our website and app. The church has also launched a 40-day spiritual guide beginning 1 April until 10 May, to help guide our members to navigate the changing landscape daily. The guide is also available online in both english and chinese. We want to stay connected to God and to one another throughout this time period, despite the limitations.
Our pastors and leaders carry on caring for and tending to the people as well. The church has also looked for creative ways to bring the light of Christ to the community, including blessing the private clinics and polyclinic in Hougang with gifts, as well as housing some Malaysians who work in Singapore and are caught by the lockdown situation.
In this time of crisis, let’s continue to stand united in faith and confidence in the Lord, while at the same time demonstrating responsibility and prudence as an act of love and accountability to one another and the community. Let’s continue to pray for our country and our people. May the peace of God continue to reign in our hearts and minds.
